Walking In Memphis -Cher

U0mL2gzy8dE

Put on my blue suede shoes
And I boarded the plane
Touched down in the land of the Delta Blues
In the middle of the pouring rain
W.C. Handy -- won't you look down over me
Yeah, I got a first class ticket
But I'm as blue as a boy can be

Then i'm walking in Memphis
Was walking with my feet ten feet off of Beale
Walking in Memphis
But do I really feel the way I feel

Saw the ghost of Elvis
On Union Avenue
Followed him up to the gates of Graceland
Then I watched him walk right through
Now security they did not see him
They just hovered 'round his tomb
But there's a pretty little thing
Waiting for the King
Down in the Jungle Room

When I was walking in Memphis
I was walking with my feet ten feet off of Beale
Walking in Memphis
But do I really feel the way I feel

They've got catfish on the table
They've got gospel in the air
And Reverend Green be glad to see you
When you haven't got a prayer
Boy you got a prayer in Memphis

Now Muriel plays piano
Every Friday at the Hollywood
And they brought me down to see her
And they asked me if I would --
Do a little number
And I sang with all my might
She said --
"Tell me are you a Christian child?"
And I said "Ma'am I am tonight"

Walking in Memphis
I was walking with my feet ten feet off of Beale
Walking in Memphis
But do I really feel the way I feel

Walking in Memphis
I was walking with my feet ten feet off of Beale
Walking in Memphis
But do I really feel the way I feel

Put on my blue suede shoes
And I boarded the plane
Touched down in the land of the Delta Blues
In the middle of the pouring rain
Touched down in the land of the Delta Blues
In the middle of the pouring rain

Advertising Space - Robbie Williams

Wl3CGQP1gFQ

There's no earthly way of knowing
What was in your heart
When it stopped going
the whole world shook
a storm was blowing through you
waiting for god to stop this
and up to your neck in darkness
everyone around you was corrupted
say something

there's no dignity in death
to sell the world your last breath
we're still fighting over everything you left..oh

I saw you standing at the gates
when Marlon Brando passed away
you had that look upon your face
advertising space and

no one learned from your mistakes
we let our profits go to waste
all that's left in any case
is advertising space ooh

through your eyes the world was burning
please be gentle I'm still learning
you seemed to say as you kept turning up
they poisoned you with compromise
at what point did you re-alise
everybody loves your life but you ah-ha

a special agent for the man
through watergate and vietnam
no one really gave a damn
Do-you think the CIA did

I saw you standing at the gates
when Marlon Brando passed away
you had that look upon your face
advertising space and

no one learned from your mistakes
we let our profits go to waste
all that's left in any case
is advertising space ooh

oh.........oh
...ahhhhh...
oooh oooh
oooh oooh

no one learned from your mistakes
we let our profits go to waste
all that's left in any case
is advertising space ooh

I've seen your daughter man she's cute
I was scared but I wanted to
boy she looks a lot like you

Calling Elvis - Dire Straits

0orIlxfzNJU

Calling Elvis
Is anybody home
Calling Elvis
I'm here all alone
Did he leave the building
Or can he come to the phone
Calling Elvis
I'm here all alone

Well tell him I was calling just to wish him well
Let me leave my number
Heartbreak hotel
Oh love me tender
Baby don't be cruel
Return to sender
Treat me like a fool

Calling Elvis
Is anybody home
Calling Elvis
I'm here all alone
Did he leave the building
Can he come to the phone
Calling Elvis
I'm here all alone

Why don't you go get him
I'm his biggest fan
You gotta tell him
He's still the man
Long distance baby
So far from home
Don't you think maybe you could put him on

Well tell him I was calling just to wish him well
Let me leave my number
Heartbreak hotel
Oh love me tender
Baby don't be cruel
Return to sender
Treat me like a fool

Calling Elvis
Is anybody home
Calling Elvis
I'm here all alone
Did he leave the building
Or can he come to the phone
Calling Elvis
I'm here all alone

Graceland Paul Simon

OtT7Og2LBbE

The Mississippi Delta was shining
Like a National guitar,
I am following the river
Down the highway
Through the cradle of the civil war,

I'm going to Graceland
Graceland
In Memphis Tennessee
I'm going to Graceland,

Poorboys and Pilgrims with families
And we are going to Graceland,
My traveling companion is nine years old
He is the child of my first marriage,
But I've reason to believe
We both will be received
In Graceland,

She comes back to tell me she's gone,
As if I didn't know that
As if I didn't know my own bed,
As if I'd never noticed,
The way she brushed her hair from her forehead,
And she said losing love
Is like a window in your heart,
Everybody sees you're blown apart,
Everybody sees the wind blow,

I'm going to Graceland,
Memphis Tennessee
I'm going to Graceland,
Poorboys and Pilgrims with families
And we are going to Graceland,

And my traveling companions
Are ghosts and empty sockets
I'm looking at ghosts and empties,
But I've reason to believe
We all will be received
In Graceland,

There is a girl in New York City,
Who calls herself the human trampoline,
And sometimes when I'm falling flying
Or tumbling in turmoil I say
Whoa so this is what she means,
She means we're bouncing into Graceland,
And I see losing love
Is like a window in your heart,
Everybody sees you're blown apart,
Everybody feels the wind blow,

In Graceland Graceland,
I'm going to Graceland,
For reasons I cannot explain
There's some part of me wants to see
Graceland,
And I may be obliged to defend
Every love every ending
Or maybe there's no obligations now,
Maybe I've a reason to believe
We all will be received
In Graceland

(Pause)

Woah in graceland graceland graceland
i'm going to graceland

Se qualcuno mi aiuta magari, altrimenti cercherò di farne una stesura, perchè contiene parole bellissime :cry::cry:

Ci provo, Hurt, ma non ho capito proprio tutto (fa schifo l'audio del mio computer):

Old Friend

Don't be cruel, teddy baer
dancing tips and long black hair
you crossed my mind today
Las Vegas Hotel, Graceland
a sweet young daughter
and a million fans
old friend, you touched my heart today.

And I listen to you in the still of the night
open to your voice and you're all right
I close my eyes and open my soul
touch the king of rock 'n roll
old friend, it's good to hear you once again.

You shook us all up, you loved us tender
caught us in a trap, we all surrendered
aha, oh yeah, loving you
don't, don't .....?
I'm falling in love with you
I happen to sit down with your records on
seven sad years are suddenly gone
I get you in young, it doesn't seem fair
would it be heal if I could have been there
old friend, my heart is crying once again.

Trapped here on
your mother is free
a lonely pain
we refused to see
old friend, you touched my heart today
old friend, I'm missing you once again
I'm missing you once again.

MwWWcYBmAT4

Hey Elvis won't cha come back home
I left a message on your code-a-phone
I tried to reach ya but I can't get through
Hey Elvis where the hell are you?
Somebody saw you at the shopping mall
Somebody said they heard that Southern draw
Hey Elvis is it really true
We're all waitin' for a sign from you
Everybody knows about your pink Cadilac
Everybody's wonderin' when you're comin' back
Everbody's waitin' just to hear ya sing
Hey Elvis, You're still the king
Hey Elvis won't cha come back soon
Nobody's rockin' in the jungle room
Come December don't know what we'll do
Be a blue Christmas [ (http://www.mp3lyrics.org/b/bryan-adams/hey-elvis/#)without you
Everybody knows about your pink Cadilac
Everybody's wonderin' when you're comin' back
Everbody's waitin' just to hear ya sing

He Was The King - Neil Young

fJSV7Ft9xII

"He Was The King"

(Okay, we're gonna start with a... Uh...
Start with an F. Just ride in on the F.
Maybe that's a good way to start.
Or maybe the D. Whaddya think, Ben?
- Uh, the F sounds good...
- Just like a...)

The last time I saw Elvis
He was shooting at a colour TV
The phones were ringing in the pink motel
And the rest is history
He was the King

The last time I saw Elvis
He was singing a gospel song
You could tell he had the feeling
And the whole world sang along
He was the King

The last time I saw Elvis
He was up on the silver screen
Pushing a plough in a black and white movie
And everybody started to scream
Yes, he was the King

The last time I saw Elvis
It was some kind of Vegas dream
Spotlights flashed on a silver cape
And a blue-haired lady screamed
He was the King

The last time I saw Elvis
He was fronting a three-piece band
Rocking on the back of a flatbed truck
With an old guitar in his hand
He was the King

The last time I saw Elvis

The last time I saw Elvis
He was riding in a pink Cadillac
Wind was blowing through his hair
And he never did look back
He was the King

Thank you very much

The last time I saw Elvis
He was singing that gospel song
You could tell that he had the feeling
And the whole world sang along
He was the King

He was the King
He was the King

(- Elvis has left the arena
- But he was rocking while he was getting out.
- Oh, man, you blew me right outta my seat when you said,
"Thank you very much." I almost stopped playing!
- "Thank you very much." etc.)

I Remember Elvis Presley - Danny Mirror

NnWkTkukwEA

Last night I turned the radio on for the midnight news
suddenly I thought I'd died of a broken heart
when I heard the announcer say:

The great rock singer Elvis Presley
also known as the king

just died in a hospital in Memphis
Tennessee
USA
at the age of fortytwo years.

I remember Elvis Presley
Lord
how I love to hear him sing
so I'll adore him just for ever
for he's the one and only "King".
Like he was singing "Now or never
he's just a golden memory.

Good luck charm
is not for ever
good luck songs
we need 'em ever
again
again I'll play your songs

'cause in my mind you haven't gone.

I remember Elvis Presley
Lord
how I love to hear him sing
so I'll adore him just for ever
for he's the one and only "King".
Like he was singing "Now or never
he's just a golden memory.

My dear friend I won't forget you
when I need you I can hear you
King
though I dont know where or when

there'll be a day we meet again.

Elvis Presley
I wanna thank you for all the happiness
you gave so many people all over the world
during many
many years.
Ha
I remember the disc-jockey was playing "Jailhouse Rock"
When I had my first date with a beautiful girl
and since that evening
you've been my friend
Elvis !

I remember Elvis Presley
Lord
how I love to hear him sing
so I'll adore him just for ever
for he's the one and only "King".
Like he was singing "Now or never
he's just a golden memory.
So I'll adore him just for ever
he's just a golden memory.

King Of The Mountain - Kate Bush

TpvwiiwNNEk

Could you see the aisles of women?
Could you see them screaming & weeping?
Could you see the storm rising?
Could you see the guy who was driving?
Could you climb higher and higher?
Could you climb right over the top?
Why does a multi millionaire
Fill up his home with priceless junk?
The wind is whistling
The wind is whistling
Though the house
Elvis are you out there somewhere
Looking like a happy man?
In the snow with Rosebud
And king of the mountain
Another Hollywood waitress
Is telling us she’s having your baby
And there’s a rumour that you’re on ice
And you will rise again someday
And there’s a photograph
Where you’re dancing on your grave
The wind is whistling
The wind is whistling
Through the house
Elvis are you out there somewhere
Looking like a happy man?
In the snow with Rosebud
And king of the mountain
The wind it blows
The wind it blows the door closed

Real Good Looking Boy - The Who

lm2di0LkAX8

When I think back to the
first time in my childhood
When I saw that face
I thought right then,
'That's a real good looking boy'

I saw myself in the mirror
in profile
for the first time
I thought,
'Hey! That's a real good looking boy'

And I felt then
that I moved
With all those lucky fucks and angels
High in the theatre
In the sky

So I ran to my mother
I said,
'Mom - take a look at me
Have you ever seen a teen
Fly so high?'

That's a real good looking boy
That's a real good looking boy

She said,
'Son, well, you know,
you're an ugly boy.
You don't really look like him

In this long line
There's been some
real strange genes
You've got 'em all
You've got 'em all
With some extras thrown in'

That's a real good looking boy
That's a real good looking boy
That's a real good looking boy
That's a real good looking boy

Wise men say
Only fools, only fools rush in
But I - I can't help
Falling in love, in love with you

Now I'm here with you little darling
And you say, 'You're beautiful as you are'
And I've managed somehow to survive

You arrived in my life like a fragrance and
you help me find a little laugh
Now I Know how so-called beauty lies

God gave him a face
Then he gave me something above
God gave me a grace
Man, he gave me your sweet, sweet, sweet love

You make me feel like I'm a real good looking boy
I feel I'm a real good looking boy
That's a real good looking boy
That's a real good looking boy

WAYNE NEWTON…. THE ELVIS LETTER

One more phone call from a friend
Just to say how hard it's been
How their hopes and dreams have scattered
With the wind
They don't see that I'm there too
How it breaks my heart in two
Just to make it through this night's all I can do

Help me Lord
I need the sun to drive away
The shadows in my mind
Help me Lord
I need someone to guide me
When the path is hard to find
Even though the crowd surrounds me
I'm still standing all alone
When I know I can't go on
Help me Lord

As I awake again today
And my pain won't go away
And the face I have to wear
Shows a smile
Now my nights are so alone
I just wish I could go home
I don't know if I can make it another mile

Help me Lord
I need the sun to drive away
The shadows in my mind
Please help me Lord
I need someone to guide me
When the path is hard to find
Even though the crowd surrounds me
I'm still standing all alone
When I know I can't go on
Help me Lord

I feel so alone sometimes
The night is quiet for me
I'd love to be able to sleep
I am glad that everyone is gone now
I'll probably not rest tonight
I have no need for all of this
Help me Lord

Help me Lord
I need the sun to drive away
The shadows in my mind
Please help me Lord
I need someone to guide me
When the path is hard to find
Even though the crowd surrounds me
God I am so all alone
When I know I can't go on

Tupelo' Too Far

28RJ36nHKkc

I can see Saltillo Street
And the house where I was born
I can hear gospel songs
From the church on Sunday morn
Saturday nights 'round the radio
Life was simple then
But this road I'm on won't take me there
You can't go back again
I wish I could take Route 78
And be there in no time
Rest beneath the sweet gum trees
Leave all my cares behind
But Tupelo's too far
I never dreamed I would be
A king much less a star
And I never knew that what I loved
Could also break my heart
I always thought if I just sang
Everything would be alright
And I don't know what went wrong
But I'm lonesome tonight
I wish I could take Route 78
And be there in no time
Rest beneath the sweet gum trees
Leave all my cares behind
But Tupelo's too far

Went To See The Gypsy - Bob Dylan

gOKhCwcjBYE

Went to see the gypsy,
Stayin' in a big hotel.
He smiled when he saw me coming,
And he said, "Well, well, well."
His room was dark and crowded,
Lights were low and dim.
"How are you?" he said to me,
I said it back to him.

I went down to the lobby
To make a small call out.
A pretty dancing girl was there,
And she began to shout,
"Go on back to see the gypsy.
He can move you from the rear,
Drive you from your fear,
Bring you through the mirror.
He did it in Las Vegas,
And he can do it here."

Outside the lights were shining
On the river of tears,
I watched them from the distance
With music in my ears.

I went back to see the gypsy,
It was nearly early dawn.
The gypsy's door was open wide
But the gypsy was gone,
And that pretty dancing girl,
She could not be found.
So I watched that sun come rising
From that little Minnesota town.

Because You Loved Me - Celine Dion

tG3PZsTKvHY

For all those times you stood by me
For all the truth that you made me see
For all the joy you brought to my life
For all the wrong that you made right
For every dream you made come true
For all the love I found in you
I'll be forever thankful baby
You're the one who held me up
Never let me fall
You're the one who saw me through it all

You were my strength when I was weak
You were my voice when I couldn't speak
You were my eyes when I couldn't see
You saw the best there was in me
Lifted me up when I couldn't reach
You gave me faith 'cause you believed
I'm everything I am
Because you loved me

You gave me wings and made me fly
You touched my hand I could touch the sky
I lost my faith, you gave it back to me
You said no star was out of reach
You stood by me and I stood tall
I had your love I had it all
I'm grateful for each day you gave me
Maybe I don't know that much
But I know this much is true
I was blessed because I was loved by you

You were always there for me
The tender wind that carried me
A light in the dark shining your love into my life
You've been my inspiration
Through the lies you were the truth
My world is a better place because of you

You were my strength when I was weak
You were my voice when I couldn't speak
You were my eyes when I couldn't see
You saw the best there was in me
Lifted me up when I couldn't reach
You gave me faith 'coz you believed
I'm everything I am
Because you loved me

Bob Dylan scrisse Went To See The Gypsy nel 1970 e si pensa che lui si sia incontrato con Elvis, ma non si sa per certo...
Forse era tutto una fantasia? Elvis ha cantato in una piccola città del Minnesota in quell'anno?
Bob ci ha passato l'infanzia, invece...

Black Velvet - Alanna Myles

Ut09zkRoG0g

Mississippi in the middle of a dry spell
Jimmy Rogers on the Victrola up high
Mama's dancin' with baby on her shoulder
The sun is settin' like molasses in the sky
The boy could sing, knew how to move, everything
Always wanting more, he'd leave you longing for

Chorus:
Black velvet and that little boy's smile
Black velvet with that slow southern style
A new religion that'll bring ya to your knees
Black velvet if you please

Up in Memphis the music's like a heatwave
White lightening, bound to drive you wild
Mama's baby's in the heart of every school girl
"Love me tender" leaves 'em cryin' in the aisle
The way he moved, it was a sin, so sweet and true
Always wanting more, he'd leave you longing for

chorus

Every word of every song that he sang was for you
In a flash he was gone, it happened so soon, what could
you do?

(Solo)

chorus repeats 2x

If you please, if you please, if you please

Black flash over my own love

Black flash come though my own life
Telling these things
And I believe them

White flash sees the sky
And it turns its side from you
She won't turn my back

And you know
And your sky is feeling blue
And your heart
So cold when I'm with you
And you feel
Like no one told you to
And your time is your side
And your time with me
Ah, don't talk to me
Ah, don't talk to me
Don't talk to me

You know
Like no one told you how
But you know
Though the king that howls has howled
But you feel like sentimental
But you don't care
If I just share it in your heart
(heart...)

Hopelessly
So hopelessly
I'm breaking through for you and me
And you don't
Though no one told you to
And you found out
Where you were going, where to
You're through with me
But I know that you will be back
For more

You know
And though no one told you so
And you know, blue sky
Like a harder shade of blue
And you walk
When you want
To let go
Me, I'm the outside, tell me fade away
Drop me down but don't break me
In your sleep

In your sleep, inside
It's in your heart and mine
Whole sea is dark
It's in your heart and mine

Sweetly, those will come
Loving is on your side walking through
So let me in your heart
Your beat is like something...

They...
Run...
See say you're sad and reach by
So say you're sad above beside
Oh stay you're sad over midnight
So stay sad above we said

You know I don't
No one told you how
(and you don't)
(and you wipe sweat off your white brow)
And you care
And no one told you tried
And your heart
Is left out from the side

And the rain beats down
And the shame goes down
And this rain keeps on coming down
And this sky
Tonight...

You know "S" "O" "N" "G", why
You're going go join to God
You know "S" "O" "N" "G", why
Give away some him no lie
Give away some my de day no

You know
And though no one told you sky
And you feel
Like you pretend you can
You say go, you live
Go live outside of me
Don't you leave
Don't leave out part of me
Then can feel
Like I feel before
Like I hurt now
And I see the floor
If you pick me up
Bits and pieces on this floor

Cry Like Memphis - Tamara Walker

Oh6rbikkKdI

Home of the blues is where I live
Trapped inside these lonely walls that don’t forgive
Surrounded by memories
Your goodbye haunts me like a Beale Street melody
And I’ve done everything but get down on my knees
And if my tears will set this ghost inside me free

I’m gonna cry like Memphis
I’m going three times under
I’m gonna drown my sorrows
In tears that rill like thunder
Till I can find a way
Till I can carry on
I’m gonna cry like Memphis
When they heard the King was gone

Love me Tender cuts through the dark
Coming from an open window of a passing car
And in that moment I believe
I can almost feel your body lying next to me
But one heart beating slowly brings me back around
I know you’re gone and I know I’m breaking down

And when I break down

I’m gonna cry like Memphis
I’m going three times under
I’m gonna drown my sorrows
In tears that rill like thunder
Till I can find a way
Till I can carry on
I’m gonna cry like Memphis
When they heard the King was gone

ANGEL - The Eurythmics

lINrwhDVosI

Underneath this canopy of snow
Where fifty-seven winters
Took their toll
Where did you go?

And I believed in you
I believed in you
Like Elvis Presley
Singing psalms on a Sunday
(Where did you go?)

Well she's gone to meet her maker
Back to where she came from
Come to save her soul...
Come to save her soul...
Come to take her home
'Cause it's late and past
Your bedtime
Well past bedtime

Angel
My angel
Fly over me
Angel...

She took her life
Within her hands
She took her life
Within her own two hands
And no-one can tell her
What to do now

And I believed in you
I believed in you
Like Elvis Presley
Singing live from Las Vegas
(Where did you go?)

Well she's gone to meet
Her maker
Back to where she came from
Come to save her soul...

Elvis... white trash
Elvis... the Memphis flash

On the Lisa Marie in a colour photograph

Elvis... under the hood
Elvis... with Cadillac blood
Elvis... darling bud
Flowered and returned to the Mississippi mud

Elvis... he didn't hear the shot
And Dr. King died just across the lot from...

Elvis... vanilla ice cream
Elvis... girls of fourteen
Elvis... the Memphis spleen
Shooting TVs reading Corinthian's 13

Elvis... with God on his knees
Elvis... owned three TVs
Here come the killer bees
Head full of honey potato chips and cheese
Elvis... the bumper stickers
Elvis... the white knickers
Elvis... the white nigger
Ate at king burger and just kept getting bigger

Elvis... sang to win
Elvis... the battle hymn
Elvis... the battle to be slim
Elvis ate America before America ate him

Boy From Tupelo - Emmylou Harris

nwuGPnfZc1Q

You don't love me this I know
Don't need a bible to tell me so
I hung around a little too long
I was good but now I'm gone

Like the buffalo
That boy from Tupelo
Any way the wind can blow
That's where I'm gonna go
I'll be gone like a five and dime
It'll be the perfect crime
Just ask the boy from Tupelo
He's the king and he oughta know

The shoulder I've been leanin on
Is the coldest place I've ever known
There's nothin left for me round here
Looks like it's time to disapear

Like the buffalo
That boy from Tupelo
The old wall down in jericho
Maybelle on the radio
I'll be gone like the five and dime
It'll be the perfect crime
Just ask the boy from Tupelo
He's the king and he oughta know

You don't love me, this I know
Don't need a bible to tell me so
It's a shame and it's a sin
Everything I coulda been to you

Your last chance Texaco
Your sweetheart of the rodeo
A juliet to your romeo
The border you cross into Nexico
I'll never understand why or how
Oh but baby its too late now
Just ask the boy from Tupelo
He's the king and he oughta know

Elvis Presley Blues - Gillian Welch

pDkPEu9Sak8

I was thinking that night about Elvis
Day that he died, day that he died
I was thinking that night about Elvis
Day that he died, day that he died
Just a country boy that combed his hair
And put on a shirt his mother made and went on the air
And he shook it like a chorus girl
And he shook it like a Harlem queen
He shook it like a midnight rambler,
baby,
Like you never seen

I was thinking that night about Elvis
Day that he died, day that he died
I was thinking that night about Elvis
Day that he died, day that he died
How he took it all out of black and white
Grabbed his wand in the other hand and he held on tight
And he shook it like a hurricane
He shook it like to make it break
And he shook it like a holy roller, baby
With his soul at stake

I was thinking that night about Elvis
Day that he died, day that he died
I was thinking that night about Elvis
Day that he died, day that he died
He was all alone in a long decline
Thinking how happy John Henry was that he fell down and died
When he shook it and he rang like silver
He shook it and he shine like gold
He shook it and he beat that steam drill, baby
Well bless my soul

He shook it and he beat that steam drill, baby
Well bless my soul, what's wrong with me?

I was thinking that night about Elvis
Day that he died, day that he died
I was thinking that night about Elvis
Day that he died, day that he died
Just a country boy that combed his hair
Put on a shirt his mother made and he went on the air
And he shook it like a chorus girl
He shook it like a Harlem queen
He shook it like a midnight rambler, baby

Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black) - Neil Young and Crazy Horse

Seb0ay0ccF4

Hey hey, my my
Rock and roll can never die
There's more to the picture
Than meets the eye.
Hey hey, my my.

Out of the blue
and into the black
You pay for this,
but they give you that
And once you're gone,
you can't come back
When you're out of the blue
and into the black.

The king is gone
but he's not forgotten
Is this the story
of Johnny Rotten?
It's better to burn out
'cause rust never sleeps
The king is gone
but he's not forgotten.

Hey hey, my my
Rock and roll can never die
There's more to the picture
Than meets the eye.

Se la maggior parte della gente non capisce chi davvero fosse Elvis, chi vive di musica lo vede così...

Album: Intensive Care (http://testimania.leonardo.it/artista/testi_robbie_williams_277/testi_intensive_care_15999.html)
Titolo: Advertising Space

There's no earthly way of knowing
What was in your heart
When it stopped going
The whole world shook
A storm was blowing through you

Waiting for God to stop this
And up to your neck in darkness
Everyone around you was corrupted
Saying somethin'

There's no dignity in death
To sell the world your last breath
They're still fighting over
Everything you left over

I saw you standing at the gates
When Marlon Brando passed away
You had that look upon your face
Advertising space

And
No one learned from your mistakes
We let our profit s go to waste
All that's left in any case
Is Advertising space

Through your eyes
The world was burning
Please be gentle
I'm still learning
You seemed to say
As you kept turning up

They poisoned you with compromise
At what point did you realise
Everybody loves your life
But you ahahh

Special agent for the man
Through watergate and vietnam
No one really gave a damn
Did you think the CIA did

I saw you standing at the gates
When Marlon Brando passed away
You had that look upon your face
Advertising space

And
No one learned from your mistake
We let our profits go to waste
All that's left in any case
Is Advertising space ooooohh

I saw you standing at the gates
When Marlon Brando passed away
You had that look upon your face
Advertising space

No one learned from your mistakes
We let our profits go to waste
All that's left in any case
Is Advertising space

I've seen your daughter
Man shes cute
I was scared but I wanted to
Boy she looks a lot like you

TRADUZIONE

tutti attorno a te erano corrotti
dicevano qualcosa

Non c’è dignità nella morte
per vendere al mondo il tuo ultimo respiro
stanno ancora lottando
per quello che hai lasciato

Ti ho visto mentre stavi ai cancelli
quando Marlon Brando passava a miglior vita
tu avevi quello sguardo sul viso
spazio pubblicitario

e nessuno ha imparato dai tuoi errori
lasciamo che i nostri profitti si sprechino
tutto quello che resta comunque
è uno spazio pubblicitario

Attraverso i tuoi occhi
il mondo stava bruciando
per piacere sii gentile
sto ancora imparando
tu sembri dire come se
ci tenevi a sorprendere

spazio pubblicitario

e nessuno ha imparato dai tuoi errori
lasciamo che i nostri profitti si sprechino
tutto quello che resta comunque

Ti ho visto mentre stavi ai cancelli
quando Marlon Brando passava a miglior vita
tu avevi quello sguardo sul viso
spazio pubblicitario

nessuno ha imparato dai tuoi errori
lasciamo che i nostri profitti si sprechino
tutto quello che resta comunque

Ho visto tua figlia
amico, è davvero carina
ero spaventato ma volevo avvicinarmi
amico, lei ti assomiglia tantissimo.)

Bringin' Out the Elvis - Faith Hill

osG4Q1p0Wu8

You're bringing out the Elvis in me
You're bringing out the Elvis in me

Just like a fossil
Frozen in time I could not move
My heart, my soul, my feet
Then you unearthed me
And put me in a hot pulsating groove
Now I'm a slave to the beat

You're bringing out the Elvis in me
Making my hips want to swing
You bring out the Elvis in me
Making me burst out and sing

When I'm with you
I never have to feel like a sardine
In a little metal can
I'm more like a wild shark
That travels in a pink limosuine, yeah
Yeah, together with my fans

You're bringing out the Elvis in me
Making my hips want to swing
You bring out the Elvis in me
Making me burst out and sing, oh yeah

People think I'm a silly fool
Because I think you are so nice and cool
And some people say
You're so square
But I don't care
You're bringing out the Elvis in me
You're bringing out the Elvis in me

You're bringing out the Elvis in me
Making my hips want to swing
You bring out the Elvis in me
Making me burst out and sing
You're bringing out the Elvis in me

Elton John - "Porch Swing In Tupelo"

Cta7wxMJOcQ

There's a porch swing in Tupelo
In the shade of the south
Where the sweet honey drips off that old hush-yo'-mouth
It's a slow road on down
That old Natchez Trace
Through Alabama cotton fields to a state of grace
It's a crisp golden Autumn
On the Tennessee line
Rolling down to Mississippi like you headed back in time
Town's closed on Sunday
Everybody's in church
It's empty as the moon this place here on earth

And this place don't change
Some places move slow
I'm just rocking myself on this porch swing in Tupelo
I got nothing to do 'cept hang in the breeze
Ghosts of the old south are all around me
Yea swing high, yea swing low
Here on this porch swing in Tupelo

His mama must have loved him
That truck drivin' boy
With the grease monkey look and the rock 'n roll voice
Well I was just thinkin' 'bout him
'Cause I guess he sat here
Singing all praise to God through poverty's tears

And this place don't change
Some places move slow
I'm just rocking myself on this porch swing in Tupelo
I got nothing to do 'cept hang in the breeze
Ghosts of the old south are all around me
Yea swing high, yea swing low
Here on this porch swing in Tupelo

And this place don't change
Some places move slow
I'm just rocking' myself on this porch swing in Tupelo
I got nothing to do 'cept hang in the breeze
Ghosts of the old south are all around me
Yea swing high, yea swing low
Here on this porch swing in Tupelo

And this place don't change
Some places move slow
I'm just rocking' myself on this porch swing in Tupelo
I got nothing to do but hang in the breeze
The ghosts of the old south all around me
Yea swing high, yea swing low
On this porch swing in Tupelo

Here on this porch swing in Tupelo

Here on this porch swing in Tupelo

Patti Scialfa - Looking for Elvis

9kj7XFARmoo

Dal nuovo albo "Play It As It Lays"
appena trovo il testo, lo aggiungerò!

Ecco il testo della canzone: :-\

Warm black asphalt
South of nowhere
I'm going there under a dirty cotton sky
When the rain comes round
I roll my window down
I lift my face to heaven
And wash these tears from my eyes

I'm just looking for some inspiration
I'm looking for something to rock my soul
I'm looking for a brand new destination
I'm looking for Elvis down a Memphis road
I'm looking for Elvis

I remember...
All those Septembers
The pledges of allegiance
The prayers of trust
I slept on those beds of hope and promise
Woke up choking on cheap paint and carnival dust

So where are you now
With all those illusions
Fallen dreams and charity
If faith restores you
And truth delivers
Then don't tell me that I'm standing
When I'm on my knees

I'm just looking for some inspiration
I'm looking for something to rock my soul
I'm looking for a brand new destination
I'm looking for Elvis down a Memphis road
I'm looking for Elvis
I'm looking for Elvis down a Memphis road
I'm looking for Elvis

You've got to give yourself over now
Roll like a river stone
There's mud in the water
There's gravel in the dust

You've got to work a little harder
Sing a little stronger
Stand up and deliver
If you want my trust

West of Babylon
East of Eden
I'm breathing in these winds of change
I'm going to rise up from these ashes
Gonna rise up and find the truth again

I'm just looking for some inspiration
I'm looking for love to soothe my soul
I'm at the crossroads of my destination and
I'm looking for Elvis down a Memphis road
I'm looking for Elvis
I'm looking for Elvis down a Memphis road
I'm looking for Elvis

As The Strippers,
Flyin through The Valley,
Is That Friend in Memory We Made,
Is A True Friend we have Lost,

WE REMEMBER THE KING.
WE REMEMBER,WE REMEMBER THE KING
WE RECALL,WE RECALL EVERYTHING,
WE WILL TRESAURE ALL OF THE GIFTS,
THAT HE DID BRING
WE REMEMBER THE KING.

Elvis Presley Blues - Gillian Welch

O-DSXK-ZPPg

I was thinking that night about Elvis
Day that he died, day that he died
I was thinking that night about Elvis
Day that he died, day that he died
Just a country boy that combed his hair
And put on a shirt his mother made and went on the air
And he shook it like a chorus girl
And he shook it like a Harlem queen
He shook it like a midnight rambler,
baby,
Like you never seen

I was thinking that night about Elvis
Day that he died, day that he died
I was thinking that night about Elvis
Day that he died, day that he died
How he took it all out of black and white
Grabbed his wand in the other hand and he held on tight
And he shook it like a hurricane
He shook it like to make it break
And he shook it like a holy roller, baby
With his soul at stake

I was thinking that night about Elvis
Day that he died, day that he died
I was thinking that night about Elvis
Day that he died, day that he died
He was all alone in a long decline
Thinking how happy John Henry was that he fell down and died
When he shook it and he rang like silver
He shook it and he shine like gold
He shook it and he beat that steam drill, baby
Well bless my soul

He shook it and he beat that steam drill, baby
Well bless my soul, what's wrong with me?

I was thinking that night about Elvis
Day that he died, day that he died
I was thinking that night about Elvis
Day that he died, day that he died
Just a country boy that combed his hair
Put on a shirt his mother made and he went on the air

From Graceland to the Promised Land - Merle Haggard

1UqDKEFOtS0

From the sun years of the Fifties and the birth of rock and roll,
Millions screamed to see him do his thing.
Elvis touched the life of ev'ry ear that heard him,
And they couldn't help but listen when he sang.

It's a long way from Memphis to that mansion in the sky,
But he kept his faith in Jesus all along,
It's a long way from Graceland across Jordan to the Promised Land,
But Jesus fin'ly came to lead him home.

Why Can't They Leave Him Alone - Richard Atkins

N9K9aXF_8VY

You pick up the paper there's another expose.
And the man ain't here to defend himself.
It's a crime to treat him this way.

There's would be lovers and fair weather friends,
and their tales grow more bizarre.

These were the ones,
who walked
in the wake of a star.

He gave a whole lot of people,
a whole lot of pleasure.

He's gone, but his name lives on forever
and The Jesters who once played around his throne.
They're trying to make a dollar on their own.
Why?! Can't they leave him alone.

One King dies another claims the crown.
But no one had the fire to
lift the scepter he laid down.

He was the first, one and only,
never more to be.

Forever, he will live in memory.

He gave a whole lot of people
a whole lot pleasure.

He's gone but his name lives on forever.
And The Jesters, who once played around his throne.
They're trying to make a dollar on their own.
Why!? Can't They Leave him alone.

He sang Love Me Tender, Love Me True.
He gave them motorcycles,
cadilliacs and diamonds too.

Their life dropped, when his heartbeat stopped.
And now they slander while he sleeps.

In the Memphis night, Graceland weeps.
He gave a whole lot of
people a whole lot of pleasure,
he's gone but his name lives on forever.

And The Jesters, who once played around his throne.
They're trying to make a dollar on their own.

U2 - Elvis Presley And America cover

_EYRuHJclwc

Black flash over my own love tell me of my eyes
Black flash come though my own life
Telling these things and I believe them and I believe in you

White flash sees the sky and it turns its side from you
She won't turn my back and I know you turn so blue
And you know and your sky is feeling blue
And your heart so cold when I'm with you
And you feel like no one told you to
And your time is outside and your time
Ah, don't talk to me ah, don't talk to me don't talk to me

You know like no one told you how
But you know though the king that has howled
But you feel like sentimental
But you don't care if I just share it in your heart

Hopelessly, so hopelessly
I'm breaking through for you and me
And you don't though no one told you to
And you found out

Where you were going, where to you're through with me
But I know that you will be back for more
And you know and though no one told you so
And you know, blue sky like a harder shade of blue
And you walk when you want to let go
Me, I'm on the outside, tell me fade away
Drop me down but don't break me in your sleep

In your sleep, inside it's in your heart and mine
Whole sea is dark it's in your heart and mine
Sweetly, those will come loving is on your side walking through
So, let me in your heart your beat is like something

They run
See say you're sad and reach by
So say you're sad above beside
Oh stay sad above beside
So stay sad above we said

You know I don't no one told you how
And you wipe sweat off your white brow
And you care and no one told you tried
And your heart is left out from the side

And the rain beats down
And the shame goes down
And this rain keeps on coming down
And this sky tonight

You know S O N G, why
You're going go join to god
You know S O N G, why
Give away some him no lie
Give away some my de day no
You know and though no one told you sky
And you feel like you pretend you can
You say go, you live go live outside of me
Don't you leave don't leave out part of me
Then I can feel like I feel before like it hurt now
And I see the floor if you pick me up

Titolo: Why. Questa è di Annie Lennox ed è stata cantata a Roma
Ecco i testi:

How many times do I have to try to tell you
That I'm sorry for the things I've done
But when I start to try to tell you
That's when you have to tell me
Hey... this kind of trouble's only just begun
I tell myself too many times
Why don't you ever learn to keep your big mouth shut
That's why it hurts so bad to hear the words
That keep on falling from your mouth
Falling from your mouth
Falling from your mouth
Tell me...
Why
Why

I may be mad
I may be blind
I may be viciously unkind
But I can still read what you're thinking
And I've heard is said too many times
That you'd be better off
Besides...
Why can't you see this boat is sinking
(this boat is sinking this boat is sinking)
Let's go down to the water's edge
And we can cast away those doubts
Some things are better left unsaid
But they still turn me inside out
Turning inside out turning inside out
Tell me...
Why
Tell me...
Why

This is the book I never read
These are the words I never said
This is the path I'll never tread
These are the dreams I'll dream instead
This is the joy that's seldom spread
These are the tears...
The tears we shed
This is the fear
This is the dread
These are the contents of my head
And these are the years that we have spent
And this is what they represent
And this is how I feel
Do you know how I feel ?
'cause i don't think you know how I feel
I don't think you know what I feel
I don't think you know what I feel
You don't know what I feel

Don't be Cruel, Teddy Bear, dancing hips and long black hair,
old friend you crossed my mind today.
Las Vegas Hotel, Graceland, sweet young daughter & million fans,
old friend, you touched my heart today.

If I listen real close in the still of the night,
I can hear your voice saying you're all right,
Close my eyes, open my soul, touch the King of Rock n Roll,
old friend it's good to feel you once again.

You shook us all up, you loved us tender,
caught us in a trap, wee all surrendered,
uh huh, oh yea, loving you.
Don't, don't, baby treat me nice, I'm falling in love with you.
I can sit down put your records on, 7 sad years are suddenly gone,
God you were young, it doesn't seem fair,
would you be here if I could have been there,
old friend my heart is crying once again.

Trapped here on earth, your Mother is free,
a lonely pain we refused to see,
old friend it touched my heart today,
old friend I'm missing you once again.
I'm missing you once again.

Elvis, my friend - J.D. Sumner

JGLeHy-2MX0

Precious memories, how they linger.
God sent this world a baby boy
Who was born into poverty
And as a boy he wondered
What would be his destiny?
His life would be busy and things happened
that even he couldn't believe.
He had so much to give and yet very little to receive.
He started out with a song and a wiggle.
Some people couldn't understand
But you and I now know it was all in God's plan.
No sooner had he started when he lost his most precious prize.
Tragedy struck this young man, his mother died.
By this time he had the Colonel, who was to guide his every step
And things begin to happen that neither one
Could seem to help.
He came home from the Army and we saw him on TV and
Because of that wiggle they wouldn't even show his knees.
His career in the movies took him from us for awhile
Even though he didn't like it, he still gave the world a smile.
He came back to us in person.
This is what he really enjoyed
And when he felt, he didn't please us
With himself he was annoyed
We demanded, not understanding
That he give to us his all
He tried to do what we wanted
For the big and the small.
The demand for his records, to have a glimpse or touch his hand
Bit by bit it took it's toll.
For even he was just a man.
God in all His wisdom, even though he loved him so,
Knew what was best
It was time for him to go.
Precious father, loving mother,
The King is gone, is what they said.
August 16th, 1977, my friend ELVIS is dead.
I couldn't believe it, how could this be, why GOD?
Why take Elvis, why not me?
I'll never forget the funeral that day
What would we sing and what would we say?
I chose the songs and those that would sing
I called Rex Humbard, oh yeah
He's say the right things.
Years have now passed and lies have been told.
How could these people be so bold!
Well maybe it's over, maybe it's through
Surely there's nothing anyone else could say or do.
There's one last thing, one last attempt
To tear down the King.
One thing you forgot, when you wrote your book,
The casket could have been closed
Then no one could look
I was there, I know, I felt his hand
And I know the difference between a hunk of wax and that of a man.
Why if he had wanted to pull a hoax, likes been implied, he was smart enough to do it,
But Elvis would not lie.
Well, this book too, will gather it's dust, and the place that printed it
Will also rust. But one thing that nobody will ever END,
And that's memories of a great man, a great humanitarian
And the world's greatest entertainer, ELVIS, my friend.

Precious memories, how they linger, how they ever flood my soul.
In the stillness of the midnight, precious sacred scenes unfold.

Bye Bye Johnny - Bruce Springsteen (live 1981)

54DWsqM8RUI

She drew out all her money from the Southern Trust
And put her little boy on a Greyhound bus
Leaving Memphis with a guitar in his hand
With a one-way ticket to the promised land.

Now, hey little girl with the red dress on
There's a party tonight down in Memphis town
I'll be going down now if you need a ride
Come on, come on let's go tonight

How many have fallen with a dream denied
Now, tell me baby are you lonesome tonight?
'Cause a man on the radio says Elvis Presley died
Come on,come on,let's go tonight.

He drove down into Memphis, the sky was hard and black
Up over the ridge came a white Cadillac
They're standing by the roadside. In the heat
Bound together, forever, in the promise of an endless sleep

They found him slumped up against the drain
With a whole lot of nothing running through his veins
Bye bye Johnny, Johnny bye bye
You didn't have to die, you didn't have to die.

Shine A Little Light On Elvis - Rex Fowler

oFQ53bCpPiA

He made mistakes - everyone does
And bless his soul - he lost control - of who he was
Yeah he got heavy – and sang some bad songs
But he sang some great ones - before he passed on
So lets shine a little light on Elvis
Lets shine a little light his way
Why don’t we shine a little light on Elvis
And appreciate the gift he gave
He grew up sheltered – and he grew up poor
But he grew up cherished - loved and adored
He had his dreams - like you and me
Then woke from his par-ents - pov-erty
So lets shine a little light on Elvis
Lets shine a little light his way
Why don’t we shine a little light on Elvis
And appreciate the price he paid And he carried their burdens - square up on his back
Until he could buy ‘em a brand new home & a couple’a brand new Cadillacs
Wish I could have done that - bet you do too
So how ‘bout some credit - where credit’s due
It’s time to - shine a little light on Elvis
Shine a little light his way
Cause when you shine on someone else
Th’ lite’l shine back on y’self
And that’s bound to make a better day
Why don’t we
Shine a little light on Elvis
Shine a little light his way
Cause when you shine a little light
It’s like a beacon in the night
That can guide you ‘til the break of day

ELVIS IS EVERYWHERE - MOJO NIXON

-H3-4ZP1VL8

When I look out into your eyes out there,
When I look out into your faces,
You know what I see?
I see a little bit of Elvis
In each and every one of you out there.

Lemme tell ya...
Weeeeeeeeeellllllll...

Elvis is everywhere
Elvis is everything
Elvis is everybody
Elvis is still the king

Man o man
What I want you to see
Is that the big E's
Inside of you and me

Elvis is everywhere, man!
He's in everything.
He's in everybody...

Elvis is in your jeans.
He's in your cheesburgers
Elvis is in Nutty Buddies!
Elvis is in your mom!

He's in everybody.
He's in the young, the old,
the fat, the skinny,
the white, the black
the brown and the blue
people got Elvis in 'em too

Elvis is in everybody out there.
Everybody's got Elvis in them!
Everybody except one person that is...
Yeah, one person!
The evil opposite of Elvis.
The Anti-Elvis

Anti-Elvis got no Elvis in 'em,
lemme tell ya.

Michael J. Fox has no Elvis in him.

And Elvis is in Joan Rivers
but he's trying to get out, man!
He's trying to get out!
Listen up Joanie Baby!

Elvis is everywhere
Elvis is everything
Elvis is everybody
Elvis is still the king

Man o man
What I want you to see
Is that the big E's
Inside of you and me

Man, there's a lot of unexplained phenomenon
out there in the world.
Lot of things people say
What the heck's going on?

Let me tell ya!

Who built the pyramids?
ELVIS!
Who built Stonehenge?
ELVIS!

Yeah, man you see guys
walking down the street
pushing shopping carts
and you think they're talking to allah,
they're talking to themself.
Man, no they're talking to ELVIS!
ELVIS! ELVIS!

You know whats going on in that Bermuda Triangle?
Down in the Bermuda Traingle
Elvis needs boats.
Elvis needs boats.
Elvis Elvis Elvis
Elvis Elvis Elvis
Elvis needs boats.

Aahh! The Sailing Elvis!
Captain Elvis!
Commodore Elvis it is.

Yeah man, you know people from outer space,
people from outer space they come up to me.
They don't look like like Doctor Spock.
They don't look like Klingons,
all that Star Trek jive.

They look like Elvis.
ELVIS!
Everybody in outer space looks like Elvis.
Cause Elvis is a perfect being.
We are all moving in perfect peace and harmony towardsElvisness

Soon all will become Elvis.
Everything everywhere will be Elvis.
Why do you think they call it evolution anyway?
It's really Elvislution!
Elvislution!

Elvis is everywhere
Elvis is everything
Elvis is everybody
Elvis is still the king

Man o man
What I want you to see
Is that the big E's
Inside of you and me

That's right ladies and gentlemen,
The time has come!
Time has come to talk
To that little bit of Elvis inside of you.

Talk to it!
Call it up!
Say "Elvis, heal me!"
"Save me, Elvis!"
"Make me be born again
in the perfect Elvis light"

That's right!
You've got that Elvis inside of ya
and he's talkin to ya
He says he wants you to sing!
Everybody's got to sing like the king!

Like the king
Get that leg going now
Get your lip too.
Not no fool Billy Idol lip either
Everybody!
Yeah, we're rockin now!

Elvis is with us.
He's with us and he's speaking to us.
He says "Peoples!"
"Peoples!"
"Everybody!"
"Everybody got to sing!"

Elvis is everywhere
Elvis is everything
Elvis is everybody
Elvis is still the king

Man o man
What I want you to see
Is that the big E's
Inside of you and me

Elvis is everywhere
Elvis is everything
Elvis is everybody
Elvis is still the king

WHO DID THEY THINK HE WAS?? - CONWAY TWITTY

tawPAqsqvzw&feature=player_embedded#

A child was born in Tupelo
In 1935
I'm grateful for his music
It forever changed my life.
Oh, I loved, love me tender
And how that boy could sing
But when he died I wondered why
Millions called him King.
Tell me, who did they think
Who did they think He was?
Who did they think
Who did they think He was?
The whole world bowed and prayed
But it only made me say
Who did they think
Who did they think He was?

He was born in Massachussetts
In 1917
The second son of an Irishman
Oh, we all loved Kennedy.
He was brave and strong and handsome
A helluva a president
But when he died
Millions cried like he was heaven sent.
Tell me who did they think
Who did they think He was?
Who did they think
Who did they think he was?
The whole world bowed and prayed
But it only made me say
Who did they think
Who did they think He was?

There was a child of heaven
Born in Bethelem
Just a simple carpenter
With worn and callused hands.
Oh, he healed the heart of many
So they nailed him to a tree
With no one left to mourn his death
But the women at his feet.
Crying, Who did they think
Who did they think He was
Who did they think
Who did they think He was?
There was no one left to grieve
But the women at his feet
Crying, who did they think
Who did they think He was?
Who did they think
Who did they think He was?...

Nobody Knows I'm Elvis - Waylon Jennings

Ke83cH1onQg

Well, I nearly got caught at a Burger King
And a couple of times on a plane
I thought I was safe from detection
With all of the weight I had gained.

But walking around in a jumpsuit
That didn't work worth a damn
So I bought me some Levi's and grew me a beard
And you'll never guess who I am.

Nobody knows I'm Elvis, nobody knows this is me
After all of my tries I've got the perfect disguise
And I'm who I want to be
Nobody knows I'm Elvis, nobody knows this is me.

Bet you thought I was ol' Waylon
With all of my rugged good looks
Swagger and walk, body and soul
I bet he had what it took.

I've always envied his singing
The way he played a guitar
Black vest and hat, that's where it's at
That's what I call a star.

Nobody knows I'm Elvis, nobody knows this is me
After all of my tries I've got the perfect disguise
And I'm who I want to be
Nobody knows I'm Elvis, nobody knows this is me.

I want to show you Graceland
Baby, that's where you ought to be
I'll give you a call but let's keep it all
Somewhere between you and me.

Nobody knows I'm Elvis, nobody knows this is me
After all of my tries I've got the perfect disguise
And I'm who I want to be
Nobody knows I'm Elvis, nobody knows this is me...

:-pw:-6x

From where I stand
I can see thrugh you
From where you're sitting, pretty one
I know it got to you

I see the stars in your eyes
You want the truth, but you need the lies
Like Judy Garland, like Valentino
You give your life for rock n' roll
Uh huh

Stand, we're on a landslide of love
You got everything you want
But what you need you give away

For primitive love
And a ride on the mistery train
A primitive love
A room at the Heart...
The Heartbreak Hotel
A room at the Heartbreak
Heartbreak Hotel
A room at the Heartbreak
Heartbreak Hotel

You say it's love, it's not the money
You let them suck your life out like honey
Turning tricks, you're on the street
Selling your kisses so bittersweet

[Gospel voices]

A primitive love
A and a ride on the mistery train
A primitive love
A room at the Heart
The Heartbreak Hotel

A room at the Heartbreak, the Heartbreak,
The Heartbreak Hotel, Hotel

questa canzone nella lista "Fight The Power"-Public Enemy

non credo proprio sia un omaggio al king ma una critica razzista su di lui cantanta da due stronzetti :-sm

Cry Like Memphis - Cindy Roberts

Home of the blues is where I live
Trapped inside these lonely walls that don’t forget
Surrounded by memories
Your goodbye haunts me like a Beal Street melody
And I’ve done everything but get down on my knees
And if my tears will set this ghost inside me free
I’m gonna cry like Memphis
I’m going three times under
I’m gonna drown my sorrows
In tears that rill like thunder
Till I can find a way
Till I can carry on
I’m gonna cry like Memphis
When they heard the King was gone
Love me Tender cuts through the dark
Coming from an open window of a passing car
And in that moment I believe
I can almost feel your body lying next to me
But one heart beating slowly brings me back around
I know you’re gone and I know I’m breaking down
And when I break down
I’m gonna cry like Memphis
I’m going three times under
I’m gonna drown my sorrows
In tears that rill like thunder
Till I can find a way
Till I can carry on
I’m gonna cry like Memphis
When they heard the King was gone

Black Velvet

Melissa Etheridge

Mississippi in the middle of a dry spell
Jimmy Rogers on the Victrola up high
Mama's dancin' with baby on her shoulder
The sun is settin' like molasses in the sky
The boy could sing, knew how to move, everything
Always wanting more, he'd leave you longing for

Chorus: Black velvet and that little boy's smile
Black velvet with that slow southern style
A new religion that'll bring ya to your knees
Black velvet if you please

Up in Memphis the music's like a heatwave
White lightening, bound to drive you wild
Mama's baby's in the heart of every school girl'
Love me tender' leaves 'em cryin' in the aisle
The way he moved, it was a sin, so sweet and true
Always wanting more, he'd leave you longing for

chorus

Every word of every song that he sang was for you
In a flash he was gone, it happened so soon, what could you do?

(Solo) chorus repeats 2x

If you please, if you please, if you please

Black Velvet

musica rock, ti faceva diventare matto
questo bambino nel cuore di ogni ragazzina della scuola
"Love me tender" le lascia a piangere in corridoio ***

Rit. 2x

per favore, per favore, per favore

Elvis Presley Boulevard - Chris Trapper

rE0E_yCIujk

The movie theatre's closing down in Memphis
While a blues band's burning up the stage
across town
The street lamps hang like saviours
from their crosses
While the losers throw their scratch tickets
on the ground
As the moon shines down on
Elvis Presley Boulevard
And the tourists trapped with the cameras
in their hands
Who would have ever realized that such
a short drive could seem so far
When you're a sucker searching for
the promised land
The casino manager lost the farm in Vegas
Cocaine charges sent from the D.A.
He blamed it on the lack of entertainment
He said he'd never lose his shirt
that way
You can bet your life the most dangerous
drugs are legal
And some doctors will feed you death
straight from their hands
So even if you're loved by fifty million people
There's not one of them gonna be there
where you land
Seen a white limousine on Elvis Presley
Boulevard
