Molto belle le foto. Io Elvis’ 56: In The Beginning (1979) del fotografo Albert Wertheimer, che aveva seguito Elvis per un breve periodo nel 1956 durante concerti o registrazioni in studio e autore di numerosi scatti fotografici di particolare interesse documentaristico. Sarà Wertheimer, dopo averlo lasciato, a scrivere questo di lui: “ The only conclusion I could draw about my photographs was that they were probably the first and the last look at the day-to-day life of Elvis Presley. People ask me what Elvis was really like. To me, he was an enigma. I was close, and yet I can’t pretend to say I knew him. I was just his shadow for a short period of time at the beginning of his career. I was not a friend, really; I was a reporter whose pen was a camera” (La sola conclusione che potei trarre sulle mie fotografie, fu che erano probabilmente il primo e ultimo sguardo alla vita giornaliera di Elvis in quel periodo. La gente mi chiede come era in realtà Elvis. Per me era un enigma. Gli ero vicino e tuttavia non oso dire che lo conoscevo. Per un breve periodo all’inizio della sua carriera sono stato la sua ombra. Ma in realtà non sono stato un amico. Ero un reporter la cui penna era la macchina fotografica).
