CD - Million Dollar Quartet - 50° Anniversario
 

Il 2006 è l'anno per festeggiare molti avvenimenti degli inizi della carriera di Elvis Presley.
Tra questi c'è la jam session agli studi della Sun del 04 Dicembre 1956, alla quale parteciparono Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis e Carl Perkins, che insieme a Johhny Cash hanno preso il nome di "The Million Dollar Quartet".

Per ricordare questo anniversario, la Charley Records distribuirà una "special edition" del cd "The Million Dollar Quartet".
Sarà un doppio cd:
- nel CD 1 ci sono 41 canzoni della jam session;
- nel CD 2 ci sono 32 canzoni del periodo Sun tra quelle di Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis e Johnny Cash.

Sono giunte notizie secondo cui la Sony/BMG - o forse la FTD - dovrebbe pubblicare una nuova edizione del cd "The Million Dollar Quartet".In questa edizione il suono è stato notevolmente migliorato e, per la prima volta, il materiale verrà proposto nella corretta sequenza.
Inoltre ci saranno circa 12 minuti in più delle precedenti edizioni.

Il 04 Dicembre 2006 ricorre il 50° Anniversario di quello storico avvenimento: Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis e Carl Perkins si esibirono in una jam session negli studi della Sun Records di Memphis.

La BMG Australia ha confermato l'uscita del cd "The Complete Million Dollar Quartet".
Questa versione sarà la completa registrazione, e l'audio è stato rimasterizzato da Kevan Budd (che si è occupato anche della rimasterizzazione del suono di album quali "Elvis At Sun", "Elvis Presley" e "Loving You").
I pezzi contenuti nel cd saranno presentati nel loro ordine originale e sarà inoltre contenuto materiale inedito.

L'uscita del cd "The Complete Million Dollar Quartet" ad opera della Sony/BMG è prevista per il mese di Settembre 2006.
Grazie all'uso della registrazione appartenente alla collezione privata di Elvis Presley, per la prima volta questa release si può ascoltare nella sua interezza e nella corretta sequenza delle canzoni, con 12 minuti di materiale in più.

La lista delle canzoni contenuta nel cd è quella che vedete nel messaggio precedente a questo.
