“Vidi uscire ì questo felino” ricorda la futura star del country, Bon Luman allora studente di scuola superiore, ”Indossava pantaloni rossi e un soprabito verde, maglietta e calzini rosa, con quel ghigno sul viso. Prima di fare un qualsiasi movimento, rimase in piedi davanti al microfono per quasi 5 minuti”. Le ragazze iniziarono ad urlare e Luman, sentì freddi brividi scorrergli lungo la schiena, perché capì che in quel momento si stava definendo il corso della sua vita.

Nel frattempo, il Colonnello, piacevolmente sconvolto da ciò che vede, scrive direttamente a Vernon Presley, spiegandogli che non ha avuto possibilità di raggiungere Bob Neal, ma ci tiene a fargli sapere che ha “un ottimo affare”, per le mani

Il tour termina con un’esibizione priva di inibizioni ed Elvis che viene premiato con le chiavi della città.

Poiché il Colonnello ha garantito ad Elvis $ 500 a show oppure $ 2.000 al giorno, in questo tour Elvis totalizza un guadagno di $ 20.000 oltre ad altri $7.500 di commissioni sulle vendite di souvenirs.

Harry Kalcheim invia un telegramma al Colonnello, informandolo di aver rifiutato l’offerta di $ 30.000 da parte di Dean Martin, per un’apparizione di Elvis al suo show nel mese di ottobre.

A Hollywood, Abe Lastfogel, presidente della William Morris telegrafa al Colonnello per informarlo che è stato definito un nuovo contratto con la 20th Century Fox.
Dal momento che non ha ancora in mano un’adeguata sceneggiatura. Hal Wallis ha ventilato che vuole fare lui il primo film di Elvis, praticamente facendolo partecipare al film “The Reno Brothers”, le cui riprese inizieranno alla fine del mese.
Elvis riceverà $ 100.00 e l’apparizione sulla locandina, come co-protagonista.

Elvis vuole che i Blackwood Brothers cantino al funerale della madre, perché erano il quartetto preferito di Gladys e, così, facendo si carico di tutte le spese, facendoli arrivare in aereo dal North Carolina

Elvis passa la giornata a Graceland. Alle 4 del pomeriggio, chiama Billy Smith, chiedendogli di salire a casa.
Elvis è di ottimo umore, ride e scherza .

Davanti a Billy, prova la sua nuova jumpsuit che dovrà indossare nel nuovo tour, ma quando si accorge che non gli va bene, inizialmente rimprovera il sarto, ma poi guardfa Billy e dice “Dannazione sono talmente grasso.....”.

Più tardi Elvis, Ginger, Billy, Jo e Al Strada prendono una motocicletta e girano sulle strade che circondano a Graceland e questa sarà l’ultimo giro in moto di Elvis
