Bringin' Out the Elvis - Faith Hill
You're bringing out the Elvis in me You're bringing out the Elvis in me Just like a fossil Frozen in time I could not move My heart, my soul, my feet Then you unearthed me And put me in a hot pulsating groove Now I'm a slave to the beat You're bringing out the Elvis in me Making my hips want to swing You bring out the Elvis in me Making me burst out and sing When I'm with you I never have to feel like a sardine In a little metal can I'm more like a wild shark That travels in a pink limosuine, yeah Yeah, together with my fans You're bringing out the Elvis in me Making my hips want to swing You bring out the Elvis in me Making me burst out and sing, oh yeah People think I'm a silly fool Because I think you are so nice and cool And some people say You're so square But I don't care You're bringing out the Elvis in me You're bringing out the Elvis in me You're bringing out the Elvis in me Making my hips want to swing You bring out the Elvis in me Making me burst out and sing You're bringing out the Elvis in me |

Elton John - "Porch Swing In Tupelo"
There's a porch swing in Tupelo In the shade of the south Where the sweet honey drips off that old hush-yo'-mouth It's a slow road on down That old Natchez Trace Through Alabama cotton fields to a state of grace It's a crisp golden Autumn On the Tennessee line Rolling down to Mississippi like you headed back in time Town's closed on Sunday Everybody's in church It's empty as the moon this place here on earth And this place don't change Some places move slow I'm just rocking myself on this porch swing in Tupelo I got nothing to do 'cept hang in the breeze Ghosts of the old south are all around me Yea swing high, yea swing low Here on this porch swing in Tupelo His mama must have loved him That truck drivin' boy With the grease monkey look and the rock 'n roll voice Well I was just thinkin' 'bout him 'Cause I guess he sat here Singing all praise to God through poverty's tears And this place don't change Some places move slow I'm just rocking myself on this porch swing in Tupelo I got nothing to do 'cept hang in the breeze Ghosts of the old south are all around me Yea swing high, yea swing low Here on this porch swing in Tupelo And this place don't change Some places move slow I'm just rocking' myself on this porch swing in Tupelo I got nothing to do 'cept hang in the breeze Ghosts of the old south are all around me Yea swing high, yea swing low Here on this porch swing in Tupelo And this place don't change Some places move slow I'm just rocking' myself on this porch swing in Tupelo I got nothing to do but hang in the breeze The ghosts of the old south all around me Yea swing high, yea swing low On this porch swing in Tupelo Here on this porch swing in Tupelo Here on this porch swing in Tupelo |

Warm black asphalt South of nowhere I'm going there under a dirty cotton sky When the rain comes round I roll my window down I lift my face to heaven And wash these tears from my eyes I'm just looking for some inspiration I'm looking for something to rock my soul I'm looking for a brand new destination I'm looking for Elvis down a Memphis road I'm looking for Elvis I remember... All those Septembers The pledges of allegiance The prayers of trust I slept on those beds of hope and promise Woke up choking on cheap paint and carnival dust So where are you now With all those illusions Fallen dreams and charity If faith restores you And truth delivers Then don't tell me that I'm standing When I'm on my knees I'm just looking for some inspiration I'm looking for something to rock my soul I'm looking for a brand new destination I'm looking for Elvis down a Memphis road I'm looking for Elvis I'm looking for Elvis down a Memphis road I'm looking for Elvis You've got to give yourself over now Roll like a river stone There's mud in the water There's gravel in the dust You've got to work a little harder Sing a little stronger Stand up and deliver If you want my trust West of Babylon East of Eden I'm breathing in these winds of change I'm going to rise up from these ashes Gonna rise up and find the truth again I'm just looking for some inspiration I'm looking for love to soothe my soul I'm at the crossroads of my destination and I'm looking for Elvis down a Memphis road I'm looking for Elvis I'm looking for Elvis down a Memphis road I'm looking for Elvis |

Elvis Presley Blues - Gillian Welch
I was thinking that night about Elvis Day that he died, day that he died I was thinking that night about Elvis Day that he died, day that he died Just a country boy that combed his hair And put on a shirt his mother made and went on the air And he shook it like a chorus girl And he shook it like a Harlem queen He shook it like a midnight rambler, baby, Like you never seen I was thinking that night about Elvis Day that he died, day that he died I was thinking that night about Elvis Day that he died, day that he died How he took it all out of black and white Grabbed his wand in the other hand and he held on tight And he shook it like a hurricane He shook it like to make it break And he shook it like a holy roller, baby With his soul at stake I was thinking that night about Elvis Day that he died, day that he died I was thinking that night about Elvis Day that he died, day that he died He was all alone in a long decline Thinking how happy John Henry was that he fell down and died When he shook it and he rang like silver He shook it and he shine like gold He shook it and he beat that steam drill, baby Well bless my soul He shook it and he beat that steam drill, baby Well bless my soul, what's wrong with me? I was thinking that night about Elvis Day that he died, day that he died I was thinking that night about Elvis Day that he died, day that he died Just a country boy that combed his hair Put on a shirt his mother made and he went on the air And he shook it like a chorus girl He shook it like a Harlem queen He shook it like a midnight rambler, baby Like he never seen |

From Graceland to the Promised Land - Merle Haggard
From the sun years of the Fifties and the birth of rock and roll, Millions screamed to see him do his thing. Elvis touched the life of ev'ry ear that heard him, And they couldn't help but listen when he sang. It's a long way from Memphis to that mansion in the sky, But he kept his faith in Jesus all along, It's a long way from Graceland across Jordan to the Promised Land, But Jesus fin'ly came to lead him home. |

Why Can't They Leave Him Alone - Richard Atkins
You pick up the paper there's another expose. And the man ain't here to defend himself. It's a crime to treat him this way. There's would be lovers and fair weather friends, and their tales grow more bizarre. These were the ones, who walked in the wake of a star. He gave a whole lot of people, a whole lot of pleasure. He's gone, but his name lives on forever and The Jesters who once played around his throne. They're trying to make a dollar on their own. Why?! Can't they leave him alone. One King dies another claims the crown. But no one had the fire to lift the scepter he laid down. He was the first, one and only, never more to be. Forever, he will live in memory. He gave a whole lot of people a whole lot pleasure. He's gone but his name lives on forever. And The Jesters, who once played around his throne. They're trying to make a dollar on their own. Why!? Can't They Leave him alone. He sang Love Me Tender, Love Me True. He gave them motorcycles, cadilliacs and diamonds too. Their life dropped, when his heartbeat stopped. And now they slander while he sleeps. In the Memphis night, Graceland weeps. He gave a whole lot of people a whole lot of pleasure, he's gone but his name lives on forever. And The Jesters, who once played around his throne. They're trying to make a dollar on their own. |

Re: Omaggi Musicali Ad Elvis Presley
U2 - Elvis Presley And America cover Black flash over my own love tell me of my eyes Black flash come though my own life Telling these things and I believe them and I believe in you White flash sees the sky and it turns its side from you She won't turn my back and I know you turn so blue And you know and your sky is feeling blue And your heart so cold when I'm with you And you feel like no one told you to And your time is outside and your time Ah, don't talk to me ah, don't talk to me don't talk to me You know like no one told you how But you know though the king that has howled But you feel like sentimental But you don't care if I just share it in your heart Hopelessly, so hopelessly I'm breaking through for you and me And you don't though no one told you to And you found out Where you were going, where to you're through with me But I know that you will be back for more And you know and though no one told you so And you know, blue sky like a harder shade of blue And you walk when you want to let go Me, I'm on the outside, tell me fade away Drop me down but don't break me in your sleep In your sleep, inside it's in your heart and mine Whole sea is dark it's in your heart and mine Sweetly, those will come loving is on your side walking through So, let me in your heart your beat is like something They run See say you're sad and reach by So say you're sad above beside Oh stay sad above beside So stay sad above we said You know I don't no one told you how And you wipe sweat off your white brow And you care and no one told you tried And your heart is left out from the side And the rain beats down And the shame goes down And this rain keeps on coming down And this sky tonight You know S O N G, why You're going go join to god You know S O N G, why Give away some him no lie Give away some my de day no You know and though no one told you sky And you feel like you pretend you can You say go, you live go live outside of me Don't you leave don't leave out part of me Then I can feel like I feel before like it hurt now And I see the floor if you pick me up |
