LA SCONOSCIUTA IN MEZZO ALLA FOLLA

Sono stato in piedi, nell’angolo, dalle sette e un quarto.
Ero ridotto alla mia ultima sigaretta e l’orologio nella vetrina
segnava le dieci e tre quarti.
Stavo guardando tutta la gente che mi passava accanto e andava in giro.
Ero proprio il ragazzo più solo della città che cercava un sorriso amichevole;
invece, tutto quello che potevo vedere erano volti; poi, ad un certo punto,
come il sapore del latte e miele,
trovai la sconosciuta che stavo cercando.

*Dal modo in cui il calice del mio amore traboccava,
capii che la sconosciuta in mezzo alla folla ed io non saremmo più stati sconosciuti.

L’amore ci aveva sorpresi nell’angolo alle dieci e tre quarti ed io
avevo pensato che eri troppo bella per essere vera.
In tutta la mia vita ho creduto che gli angeli dimorassero soltanto in paradiso,
ma ora noi due condividiamo il sapore del latte e miele,
che diviene ogni giorno più dolce di quello precedente.

Il calice del mio amore sta traboccando,
perché una sconosciuta in mezzo alla folla ed io non siamo rimasti degli sconosciuti.

Nel profondo, il calice del mio amore stava traboccando
(quando) trovai la sconosciuta che stavo cercando.

Grazie per aver oubblicato il testo Gladys. Secondo me è una bellissima canzone che troppo spesso finisce nel dimenticatoio!
