Ho mostrato la tua foto ad alcuni
vecchi con la barba grigia seduti su una panchina,
fuori da una bottega.
Hanno detto: “Si, è stata qui”;
ma non ricordavano in modo chiaro:
“E’ stata qui ieri?No…aspetta…l’altro ieri”.

Alla fine ho ottenuto un passaggio
da un predicatore che mi chiese:
“Dove sei diretto in un simile pomeriggio,freddo e buio?”
Mentre continuavamo a guidare attraverso la pioggia
e lui mi ascoltava, io gli spiegavo.
Mi ha lasciato con una raccomandazione: che avrei dovuto trovarti.
