Sand castles

At night
When the sky is still
When the south wind blows
And the air is warm
There's a world that's born

And for ev'ry child on the beach that day
Stands a castle tall and proud
And the warm wind crawls through the castle walls
And the nightfolk wake as the warm wind calls

Then the fiddler crab plays his violin
On the back of a dancing whale
While the mermaids sing to the shells they bring
And the dragon leads with his sweeping tail

For the rosy dawn
Brings the children on to a beach that's bright and new
And the nightfolk know as the castles grow
They will play once more as the children do

CASTELLI DI SABBIA

Di notte,
il cielo silenzioso,
il vento del sud che soffia
e l’aria che è calda,
c’è un mondo che nasce

Per ogni bimbo che quel giorno era sulla spiaggia,
si erge un castello alto e splendente.
Il vento passa attraverso le pareti del castello
E le creature della notte, al suo richiamo, si svegliano.

Di notte,
il cielo silenzioso,
il vento del sud che soffia
e l’aria che è calda,
c’è un mondo che nasce

Il granchio violinista suona il violino
Sulla schiena di una balena danzatrice,
le Sirene cantano con le conchiglie che portano con sé
e il drago dirige (la musica) con la sua lunga coda.

Di notte,
il cielo silenzioso,
il vento del sud che soffia
e l’aria che è calda,
c’è un mondo che nasce


La rosea aurora porta i bambini
Sulla spiaggia che è nuova e luminosa.
Le creature della notte sanno che così come i castelli crescono
Loro suoneranno ancora una volta, poiché i bimbi ne costruiscono.
