io penso che di molti concerti specie del 72 esistino riprese ufficiali quando anno girato elvis on tour anno ripreso molti concerti no solo uno per poi montarli insieme con spezzoni presi in qua e la ma il resto delle riprese c,è da qualche parte sicuramente di singolo concerto che fu ripreso non so se mi spiego

Infatti della stagione di ELVIS ON TOUR esistono i seguenti spettacoli filmati professionalmente:
Buffalo, 5 aprile;
Hampton Roads, spettacolo serale, 9 aprie;
Richmond, 10 aprile;
Greensvoro, 14 aprile;
San Antonio, 18 aprile.

Questi bellissimi shows giacciono nelle cantine della MGM/Turner che esige troppi $$$ per cedere i diritti di un'emissione video (secondo il parere della EPE).
Ma mettiamoci il cuore in pace per il MSG: gli shows non vennero filmati professionalmente e non nvennero nemmeno registrati tutti in audio: solo i due del giorno 10...
Il motivo? Costava troppo...

11. I've heard that you are working on "Hot Shots and Cool Clips volume 2” and that it would include some professional footage from Elvis' Madison Square Garden concert in 1972. Is this true, and when can we expect to see this released? (Question from Jeanne).

Joe: Yes, it is true that I will be including professional footage from Madison Square Garden. I have been working on this project for a few years now. The release date of “Hot Shots And Cool Clips Volume 2” is tentatively scheduled for April 1, 2007.


12. Can you give some details of what we can expect on your new DVD "Hot Shots And Cool Clips volume 2”? (Question from David)

Joe: Obviously the Madison Square Garden footage but the DVD will be made up of footage from 1970 to 1972 and will also include clips from the ‘50s and the ‘60s as well. The exact details are yet to be determined but it will have a running time of approximately one hour.

I read on the web an old interview that you said there is a full concert that is filmed which is not “That’s The Way It Is”, “On Tour” or any of the 3 Honolulu shows (one filmed in 72 by Japanese television) or “Elvis In Concert” from 1977. So can you please tell me more about this show and what year was it? (Question from Atle Larsen).

Joe: I can’t recall ever saying that there was another complete show professionally filmed other than what you’ve mentioned. However there is some footage from Madison Square Garden that was professionally shot that I’ve mentioned in a previous interview. This however is not the complete show. I will be using this footage on my upcoming DVD “Hot Shots And Cool Clips Volume 2.”

We know that some professional footage was done at the opening show of Madison Square Garden on June 9th 1972. Some portions of this footage has been used on different projects but always heavily edited and without Elvis' vocal. Three years ago Dateline NBC used a short sequence for the first time with the original sound of Elvis performing 'Polk Salad Annie'. According to the different footages partly used on different projects and/or on T.V., they have filmed at least the following: the crowd before the show starts, The Sweet Inspirations, Elvis entering the stage, That's All Right, Proud Mary, You Don't Have To Say You Love Me, You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling and Polk Salad Annie. Do you know if the show was filmed from beginning to end with matching sound ? If not, do you know how much was actually filmed and who possibly owns that footage ?

Joe: It sounds like you have been doing your homework. This is exactly correct. I think there may be around 30 or 40 minutes of the show with matching sound. The sound quality is not the greatest but is passable. I really can't comment on who owns it.

Poi segue questa domanda, che parla proprio della telecamera piazzata sul palco che si vede nelle mie foto. Quindi non è un oggetto, bensì al 100% una telecamera piazzata su un treppiedi. Nella risposta Joe Tunzi però afferma che probabilmente serviva solamente per monitorare lo show da un circuito chiuso per motivi di sicurezza, ma non ne ha la certezza...

In your excellent book 'Elvis- Encore Performance II' on page 73 we can see a camera on the stage mounted on a tripod. Do you know if this camera could be related in some manners to the previous question on the footage filmed at the opening show at Madison Square Garden ?

Joe: I believe that camera was for security purposes so they could monitor the show. It isn't related at all to the aforementioned footage.

Tornando quindi all'inizio del topic, mi ripeto dicendo che sarebbe ora di riuscire a vedere questo concerto!!!!
Ce lo stanno facendo davvero sudare....
L'unica cosa che mi auguro è di essere ancora al mondo quando si decideranno - se si decideranno - a distribuirlo!!

Qui si fa una grandissima confusione con le terminologie, mi par di capire...
Io non ho il DVD "Hot Shots and Cool Clips volume 2” madall'intervista (traducetela bene...)si evince che NESSUNA CASA CINEMATOGRAFICA HA FILMATO QUESTI SPETTACOLI !
Io non voglio arrampicarmi sugli specchi per aver ragione a tutti i costi ma se uno mi parla di "riprese professionali", io penso alla MGM o chi per lei che filma lo spettacolo non, come probabilmente è in questo caso, qualcuno dell'entourage di Elvis che filma piazzando una telecamera sul palco!
Allora se è per questo esistono ottime riprese, anche se solo di 15/20', dell'opening show del 31/7/69: le ha un collezionista francese di mia conoscenza !
Mica sono "riprese professionali" queste, però...
Ma chiudo qui la discussione, per quanto mi riguarda, poiché non scrivo su un forum per innesecare polemiche (terminologiche, in questo caso...).

Marco ma io non ho mai parlato di MGM Non esiste solo quella, si tratta comunque di filmati professionali, professional footage, che non hanno nulla a che vedere con quelli amatoriali che ben conosciamo...

mail cd di elvis on tour esiste visto che non è uscito nel 72 oggi c'è l'audio di quei concerto su cd ftd?

..tra l'altro..recentemente si sono scoperte foto di questo concerto di cui non si conosceva l'esistenza...quindi potenzialmente......
